Rosland Capital Reviews: Bankruptcy and What Clients Can Do

Gold bars and gold coins beside the words Rosland Capital Reviews

If you are looking up Rosland Capital reviews, the most important fact is this: Rosland Capital is no longer in business. The Los Angeles precious metals dealer, known for television commercials starring actor William Devane, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on July 2, 2026, and has ceased operations. It is not buying, selling, storing or transferring metals.

So this is not an ordinary review. It explains what happened, what former Rosland clients should do now, how the bankruptcy claims process works, and who holds the company's client records. At the end, it draws out the lessons for anyone buying gold or silver from any dealer.

The short version: do not send money, metals or instructions to Rosland Capital. If you are owed metals, money or a buyback payment, you may have a claim in the bankruptcy case; follow the official case website, cases.creditorinfo.com/roslandcapital. If you hold metals in an IRA, contact your IRA custodian to confirm what the account holds. American Hartford Gold bought Rosland's client records in a court-approved sale and runs a support line for former clients, but it did not take on Rosland's debts or unfilled orders.

Facts below come from the bankruptcy case website, American Hartford Gold's Rosland client page and news reports, all read on November 5, 2026. This is general information, not legal advice; for a large claim, speak to a bankruptcy attorney.

What happened

Rosland Capital sold gold, silver, platinum and palladium for delivery and for retirement accounts, and advertised heavily on cable television for more than a decade.

On July 2, 2026, it filed a voluntary Chapter 11 case. The case website describes the filing as a court-supervised wind-down: an "orderly, transparent and court-supervised liquidation" rather than a reorganization. The company sought court approval to sell its intellectual property, including customer records, and to place the proceeds in a liquidation trust that will pay creditors under bankruptcy law.

The scale of what customers are owed has been reported from the court filings. TMJ4 News, citing federal court filings, reported that customers are owed about $49 million for prepaid precious metals that were never delivered, and nearly $12 million in unfulfilled buyback commitments. The case website says Rosland "has limited inventory assets" and does not hold precious metals available for return to customers.

In October 2026, American Hartford Gold acquired certain Rosland Capital assets, including its client records, through a court-approved sale. American Hartford Gold now operates roslandcapital.com as a page for former Rosland clients.

If you were a Rosland Capital client: what to do now

1. Stop sending anything to Rosland

The case website is explicit: do not send funds, metals, account instructions or new transaction requests to Rosland Capital. Cancel any recurring payment you may have set up.

2. Work out exactly what you are owed

Gather your invoices, order confirmations, account statements, emails and any shipping or storage records. You will need to show what you paid for, what you received and what is outstanding: undelivered metals, an unpaid buyback, a refund or something else.

3. Follow the bankruptcy case and the claims process

The case website, cases.creditorinfo.com/roslandcapital, is where deadlines, claim procedures, sale hearings and court documents are posted. The case's FAQ says former customers who believe they are owed metals, money or refunds "may have claims" in the case, and warns them not to assume they have filed a claim until they have completed the official claim process or confirmed their status through official case channels. The call center number listed on the site is (888) 909-0100.

The FAQ is also candid about the outlook: the amount and timing of any payment to former customers depend on several factors, and the company says it "cannot predict" whether distributions will be made. Because of the automatic stay that comes with Chapter 11, claims against Rosland generally have to go through the bankruptcy process rather than a separate lawsuit.

4. If your metals were in an IRA, contact your custodian

An IRA's metals are held by the IRA custodian and stored at a depository, not by the dealer. Contact the custodian named on your IRA statements and ask for a current statement showing exactly what metals the account holds and where they are stored. If something you paid for is missing from the statement, that is part of what you are owed. American Hartford Gold's Rosland page also advises former clients with IRA questions to contact their custodian.

5. Consider a bankruptcy attorney for a large claim

For a significant amount, an attorney who handles creditor claims can explain your position and file on your behalf. The case website's FAQ also notes that the bankruptcy process may include a review of Rosland's books, records and transactions.

6. Watch out for recovery scams

Collapses like this attract people who promise to recover your money for an upfront payment. No one needs to charge you in advance to file a claim in a bankruptcy case. Get information only from the official case website, the court, your own attorney or your custodian.

Who has Rosland's client records

American Hartford Gold bought Rosland's client records and related assets in the court-approved sale. It runs a support line for former Rosland clients, 833-373-3264, and says its team can help former clients review available purchase records and their existing holdings.

Two points matter if you are a former Rosland client:

  • American Hartford Gold did not take on Rosland's debts. Its Rosland page says it did not assume Rosland Capital's debts, liabilities or outstanding customer obligations. Refunds, payments and undelivered metals remain claims in the bankruptcy case.
  • You are not obliged to do business with any particular dealer. Holding Rosland's records does not make a company your dealer. You can buy from, or sell to, whoever offers you the best written terms.

Lessons for anyone buying gold or silver

Rosland's collapse left customers with something worse than a falling gold price: payments for metal that never arrived. The president of BBB Los Angeles and Silicon Valley summed it up to TMJ4: when your gold has not been delivered, you "don't own gold — you own a promise." These habits protect you with any dealer:

  • Do not leave paid-for metal undelivered. Ask when your order will ship, and follow up if it does not arrive on time.
  • Get the metal into your own hands or into a depository in your name. For a cash purchase, take delivery or use a recognized depository that confirms your holdings directly to you. For an IRA, confirm with the custodian, not the dealer, that the metals have arrived.
  • Read your statements. Your custodian's and depository's statements should list each coin or bar you own.
  • Prefer bullion to collectibles. Standard coins and bars are priced close to the metal's value and are easy to sell elsewhere if a dealer disappears.
  • Get the buyback terms in writing, and do not rely on a dealer's promise to buy back as your only exit.
  • Check a dealer's record before you send money. Our gold scammer list and our guide to gold bar scams show the warning signs.

Choosing a dealer now: why we suggest Goldco

If you are starting again with a new dealer, the lessons above point to what matters most: a long, clean record, metal that reaches your custodian or your door, and buyback terms you can read before you buy. That is why we suggest Goldco for former Rosland clients.

  • A long BBB record. Goldco holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and has been accredited since December 2011.
  • Buyback terms in writing. Of the companies we compare, Goldco has the most specific written buyback program, so you can see how a future sale would work before you commit.
  • Gold and silver, in an IRA or delivered. Goldco sells gold and silver coins and bars for gold and silver IRAs and for direct purchase delivered to you.
  • A free guide first. Its free gold and silver guide explains how its IRAs work before you speak to anyone. Requesting it does not open an account or move any money.

Goldco is a partner of this site: if you contact it through our links, we may be paid. Our Goldco review covers the company in detail, and our ranking compares it with the other established dealers we cover. Whoever you choose, ask for the price per ounce, the buyback price and the custodian and depository arrangements in writing before you pay.
